When buying hot tubs there are several stages to consider:
1. Have you got the space to site the hot tub – ensure you have adequate room to fit the tub and access to water and electricity supply. The site must be level and able to take the weight of the tub, especially important if placing on raised decking. Also ensure there is adequate room to maneuver the hot tub into position, through gates etc. If a crane is required is there enough room to operate it.
2. Set the budget – determine how much you would like to spend and stick within that budget. This will help identify the size and type of hot tub you can afford. If you do not have a fixed budget be wary of costs, and keep a close eye on the total amount, not just the spa but also any extras.
3. Determine the size- what size do you actually need; 4, 5, 6 or 7 persons? Carefully consider the purpose and future plans for the spa.
4. Additional features – what features do you require – do you need air jets, is audio important to you, what about lighting?
5. Select a supplier – once you know the type and size of the spa you require you can select a suitable supplier;
a. Do they offer the tub you require?
b. Do they cover the area in which you live?
c. Are they competitively priced?
d. What warranty do they offer?
e. Do they offer after sales service?
f. Do they offer full installation?
6. Wet test - try out the tub - make sure it's comfortable and suitable.
7. Pricing – Consider obtaining more than one quote to ensure you are receiving good value for money. Remember service and after sales warranty is also important.
8. Installation - On deliver the hot tub can be installed. Prior to ordering ensure step one is carried out, and that there is a suitable site and room to deliver and install the tub. A base may need to be put down to place the tub on. Ensure this is done prior to delivery. Ensure everything is working correctly and that you are happy with the installation before letting the engineers leave!
9. Maintenance – read the manual carefully to ensure the water and hot tub are correctly maintained.
10. Enjoy!
