Below is a list of commonly asked questions and answers....
Q. What is involved in the installation?
A. Installing a hot tub should be undertaken by professionals to ensure tub is safe to use. The site will have to be prepared prior to installation of the tub. A flat secure area is required to place the spa on. Water and electricity supply will also be necessary. Access to the site will also be required. Prior to ordering ensure you have a suitable site and access to maneuver the tub into position.
Q. Can I still have a hot tub is there isn’t any access to my garden?
A. Yes, it is still possible. Either purchase a tub which will fit through your doors, or alternatively look into hiring a crane to lift and drop the tub into position.
Q. What are the running costs?
A. Running costs will vary from product to product. The two main areas of running costs:
Electricity to heat and operate.
Chemicals to maintain water.
Running costs may be in the region of 80p to £1 per day, with chemicals costing in the region of £5 per month.
Q. What maintenance is involved?
A. Regular checking of the water and adding the necessary chemicals will be required, this should only take a few minutes per week. The water will have to be changed – this will depend on usage levels, but changing the water every 3 months is normal. Filters will also have to be checked and cleaned every few weeks or so.
Q. I’m thinking of having the hot tub on decking – what is the weight?
A. The capacity of the tub will determine the weight of the tub when full. A small spa with a capacity of 1000 litres will weigh in the region of 1300 kg, were a larger spa with a capacity of approximately 1500 litres will weight in the region of 1800 kg.
